T-Mobileload Dropping June through August

May 21, 2008 in Handsets, Rumor Mill, T-Mobile

We’re always excited to hear about announcements of new handsets - but 16?!??!

Some fairly credible documents have popped up that suggest an outrageous pace of handsets for release in the upcoming months. Here are the releases as announced by TMoNews.com:

  • 1. Nokia 5310
  • 2. Nokia 5610
  • 3. Shadow II
  • 4. Nokia 2760
  • 5. Nokia 1208
  • 6. Nokia 6301
  • 7. Shadow III (Damn, did we say that?!)
  • 8. Samsung T339
  • 9. Samsung T229
  • 10. Blackberry Bold
  • 11. Blackberry KickStart
  • 12. Motorola W450
  • 13. Motorola Rokr E8

Note that 3 of the 16 are missing. The rumor mill can only do so much chugging - stop being greedy! In fact, some of these might be a bit off base. Other solid sources suggest that the BlackBerry Bold will come out on T-Mobile in September, which would make this rumor inaccurate.

It is a rumor and it is subject to flexibility, not to mention complete inaccuracy, but there is good reason to believe that T-Mobile will indeed go on a release spree.

The Boy Genius followed through, giving us extensive details on five of the 16:

  • Nokia 2760 - Available June 16: Smooth low end clamshell with all the basics
  • Nokia XpressMusic 5610 - Available TBD (we heard June): Estranged brother of the 5310; Slider, 3.2 megapixel camera, A2DP stereo bluetooth, external music player controls, microSDHC support and plenty more
  • Nokia 6301 - Available June 23: Sleek and elegant candy bar with WiFi, 2 megapixel camera, A2DP stereo bluetooth and all the rest S40 has to offer
  • Samsung t229 - Available June: Bright red low end clamshell with a 4x zoom camera and the basics
  • Samsung t339 - Available June 23: Sexier slimmed down burgundy clamshell with WiFi, 1.3 megapixel camera, A2DP stereo bluetooth and more

Not only that, he came through with internal infosheets. If our T-Mobile fans aren’t satisfied with today’s news, they must be looking for an anouncement that T-Mobile phones will be offering freaking time travel by December.

Here are the infosheets:

  1. None of these appear so amazing that I would jump on one if I were a T-Mobile customer. T-Mobile has already announced they'll have an Android Phone by the end of the year... so why not wait to check out those wares?

I guess if you're contract is about to expire and you're eager to get some new hotness... but I think a few more months of waiting will pay off... BIGtime
