BlackBerry Thunder to Blunder to Wait-A-Sec

Remember when gadgeteers got wind of an Android “delay” - threw a hissyfit - and then realized there was no delay to begin with? Welcome to Round 2 - BlackBerry Thunder Edition.

Everyone and their pet hamster named Diego have been eagerly awaiting the BlackBerry tidbits and/or any juicy information regarding the phones highly protected release. So, its no surprise that when reputable sources such as EngadgetMobile posted articles on July 8th calling the Thunder Touchscreen “Totally Awesome” - not only do people listen, but they also spread the word.

So among yesterday’s news was that the “totally awesome” Thunder touchscreen would be so amazing that it would “blow our minds through the front of our heads”. Wow… thats quite an achievement to have to live up to.

It’s no surprise then, that a “highly reputable source” said the BlackBerry Thunder was “nowhere ready for market” going so far as to say its so pitiful that those handling it, “think it’s a joke.” Its so far from even being usable that 4-5 months away at best is probably the timeframe.

Immediately the internetiots went wild, with people making comments about how BlackBerry will never be bale to make a touchscreen, they should stick to what they’re good at, they should give up while they are ahead and that the delay in the Thunder is proof that it will be a BLackberry thUNDER = BLUNDER.

These were probably the same folks flipping out about how Android - which has always had a “2nd half of 2008″ launch date was delayed until “4th quarter”. Not only is 4th Quarter 2008 but the 4-5 month timeframe for the BlackBerry would put it at an estimated…. oh… I don’t know… NOVEMBER.

Yup, the same November that the BlackBerry Thunder was initially slated for in the rumors. Just a reality check here folk. Keep it moving… nothing to see…
