That didn’t take long! The MobileCowboys leaked information from a secret source who said that Sony Ericsson would hold a special event in 2 weeks to launch a brand new phone: “Ladies and Gentlemen, Start your speculation!” they suggested. Two hours later details of the phone – the G705 – were leaked along with tons of pictures.

It was only a week ago that Sony Ericsson announced a trio of new Walkman phones. Now the unannounced future announcement of the G705, prematurely outed by 2 weeks, is guaranteed to ensure snores when the “officially official” time actually comes.

It’s not that the phone is terrible… its a slim and sleek slider with a 3 megapixel camera and onboard GPS… we just wanted a few minutes to marinate in the possibilities before the announcement of a mid-range handset (PSP anyone). Afterall, we’ve seen this happen before. And in the case of the BeiBei and Paris, the leaks were so sub par that they were eventually cancelled. That won’t happen to the G705, will it?

If you guys are going to ruin the excitement for everyone by leaking everything weeks in advance… you need to let US leak it! Come on, get with the program!
