New Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones Announced
The W902, W595 and W302 are the latest breed of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones to become officially official. They’ve been rumored for a long time and we’ve already seen some pretty legit looking press style photos of the devices, but its always nice to get that “final approval from dad” type feeling.
(Note: we’ve updated each phone with Live Video from UnwiredView)
First up is the W902 and is described as for “those who want it all” - it is, not surprisingly, the most feature packed of the new phones. With nice audio/media features including a 5MP camera, this ain’t a bad choice. Here are some pics and features:

• Outstanding music sound – Clear Stereo + Clear Bass+ premium headphones = clear audio experience
• Retro music navigation keys – skip forward, back, play and pause with the push of a button
• Crystal clear video playback
• 5 megapixel camera – snap your stills and videos
• Scratch-resistant 2.2” QVGA screen and lens - made with mineral glass
• 8GB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2) for more than 8,000 songs
The W902 Walkman™ is a UMTS/HSDPA 2100 and GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 phone that will be available in selected markets in Volcanic Black, Wine Red and Earth Green in Q4 of 2008.
And now for the W595. Consider it a slightly toned down version of the W902 - still a ton of features, but pulled back a bit and the price will reflect that. It’s got a 3.2MP camera instead of a 5.0 (the iPhone only has a 2.0 for comparison sake), it has 2GB of storage instead of 8GB, etc… you get the point.

Here are some of the features from the Official Press Release:
• Walkman™ player – music on the go
• 2GB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2) – store and play more than 1,900 songs
• Share jack and stereo speakers – share your sounds
• Bluetooth™ - use the many wireless speakers for loud sound
• TrackID™ and SensMe™ - lets you know what you are listening to
• 3.2 megapixel camera – snap some great shots and share with friends
Lastly, the W302 has a lot less to be desired, but for a mass audience type phone it certainly has its fair share of nice qualities.
• Walkman™ player – music on the go
• FM Radio –Just plug in the handsfree, turn on the FM radio and tune in
• Premium style and design – compact metal finish and only10.5mm wide
• 2 megapixel camera – capture your favourite moments forever
• Bluetooth™ Stereo – send & listen your music wirelessly
In addition to these 3 new phones, Sony Ericsson has also announced SEVEN new music accessories that work in conjunction with these phones. They include 3 different Wireless Speakers (MPS-100, MBS-200, MBS-400), 3 different headphones (HBH-IS800, HPM-88 and HPM-66) and a phone case dubbed “The Phone Case” (IPC-40) that comes in two colors.
All in all, Sony Ericsson looks to have done a pretty nice job with these suckers. Lets hope we can get one in our hands to try out!

Confirmed: Nokia Touch Screen in 2008
The most popular movie at the moment is Batman: The Dark Knight and while the movie might be all that and a can of pringles, a gadget cameo is where we would like to focus our attention.

A very distinct Nokia device is seen in the blockbuster hit and folks have speculated that it is none other than the XpressMedia 5800, more endearingly referred to as “The Tube”.
In a half-ass debunking, CrunchGear credits a Nokia rep with the following quote:
“In the summer blockbuster, The Dark Knight, a Nokia device is prominently featured. We worked closely with the producers of The Dark Knight to develop an appropriate device that would suit the technology-savvy character of Batman. The Nokia device used in the film is not a commercial product – at this point.”
At this point? So it will at some point? Quit playing games with our heart, Nokia. Regardless of whether or not the Dark Knight handset will BECOME the Tube remains to be seen, but we DO know that Nokia has one (if not many) touchscreens planned before the year ends.
The first touchscreen launched will be a low end handset but a full range of Nokia touchscreens are on the way. Pretty exciting stuff. Here is the full quote from Nokia’s EVP of Devices Kai Oistamo as found on MocoNews:
“We are fully committed to bringing out a complete portfolio of touch input devices to the mass market from the high-end to the low-end. We aim to appeal to the broadest part of the market, and leverage our scale in platforms, manufacturing and distribution. Our first touch device will be aimed at the volume part of the market. It’s competitively spec’d, considering the price point, and it’s scheduled to be out in the second half. Our platform approach to the software will allow us to roll out touch across the entire range from top to bottom, it’s just a matter of Nokia figuring out what features and what specs we want to include, such as GPS, Wi-Fi and Qwerty keypads.”
We’re guessing Nokia will make an absolute KILLING with the entry of touch screens, particularly those aimed at a low end market as this market is pretty much untapped at the moment.
LG has just announced sales figures on their touchscreen phones and its impressive to say the least. Their first touch screen, the LG Prada, was launched only 5 quarters ago. Since then, LG has sold over 7 million touch screens. And, at the average $530 price they’re quoting (without carrier subsidies of course) thats 3.7 Billion dollars worth of touch.
For Nokia, the dominant power in reaching the masses with affordable phones, to enter the touchscreen market with the goal of volume… this will get interesting. They might have a little more trouble with the High End devices, at least initially, but we’re guessing thats why the low end units will find the store shelves first.
Samsung Continues 8MP Parade with i8510
We’re not sure how many times the camera phone megapixel barrier has been broken this year, but it seems like a Cold War style arms race for the top manufacturers to produce the phone with the biggest snapshot. Sony Ericsson was first with the C905, then rumors of an LG 8MP beast hit the streets and now 8MP phone rumors from Samsung are staring us in the eyes.
So the convergence of phones and cameras continue. Pretty soon, only the photograph obsessed and career 1-2-3-Cheesers will need a dedicated picture taking device. Speaking of pictures, take a look at these shots, rumored to be the Samsung i8510 (scroll down for specs and source):

iPhone App Store Peddles eBooks
Anyone perousing eBay visiting the interwebz has seen the Mary Poppins bag of eBooks for free and for sale for everything from Shakespeare to How To Make Money Online Selling eBooks. That last title is part of the eBook problem - these products are digital and therefore copied with ease and effortlessly spread, pushed and marketed.
AppEngines LLC has taken a unique approach on profiting from eBooks… the iPhone. Well after an author’s book passes away, their literature enters the public domain, meaning it is not owned my any entity or corporation but rather is a piece of public knowledge. AppEngines LLC reformats these books for appearance/reading on the iPhone, selling them for $1 a pop.

To be honest, the idea is simple and witty. Get the product for free, alter it slightly and sell it. You can’t beat 100% profit margins! As the first eBook distributor for the iPhone, I suppose the offering can be viewed as a valuable service that people will truly appreciate. The problem is, what is to stop 10,000 people from copying this same model and having the iPhone App Store becoming overrun with identical eBooks, transforming it from a unique offering to a spammy get rich quick scheme?
Nothing (as far as we can tell). In fact, this same problem had run rampant on eBay until they decided to BAN the sale/auction of digital products and ebooks earlier in 2008. Sellers have found their way around that ban by burning their eBooks to CD-ROM and selling that as a physical product. So how will the iPhone respond if eBook sellers attempt to trample the competition?
Good question… we’ll be watching.

Voyager Refresh: We’ve Got Details
The LG Voyager launched in November 2007 with much fanfare but talk about a 2nd generation of the consumer hit have been limited to speculative stretches. Until we learned about the Voyager Refresh and talk about the Full QWERTY, double-screened clamshell were, well… refreshed.
We already knew the LG Voyager Refresh would get Verizon’s new Visual Voicemail service - which is pretty cool. But we didn’t know much else, including whether the Refresh was simply a software update or a new piece of hardware.
A reliable source (who wishes to remain anonymous) gave us the low down and the Voyager Refresh will be an internal firmware update that Voyager owners need to take into Verizon stores to receive (its free).
Here are some of the highlights:
- Will be update V10 (skipping a few Vs)
- Adds Drag and Drop Icons on the homescreen like those on the LG Dare for Verizon
- Adds copy and paste functionality
- Adds drawing pad
- Visual Voicemail option included
The Voyager Refresh will also see an update to the phone’s charger, providing an option for the USB/wall charger that comes bundled with the new Chocolate 3:

As you can see, there is a USB charger for the phone itself but instead of having a completely seperate wall charger, the USB connector fits INTO the wall unit, becoming your wall charger. Pretty nifty… not only does this cut down on your charger bulk but it probably cuts costs for Verizon/LG as well.
The Voyager Refresh will most likely be available in August, when Visual Voicemail is rolled out. The firmware update is free but, obviously, you’ll have to purchase the new charger. They will, however, be included in the new Voyagers for sale which will also see new packaging/marketing.
And another rumor you can file in the depths of your memory: Verizon and LG are hoping to launch a new hardware version of the Voyager which will be compatible with the upcoming 4G LTE network. While everything else in this article is probably spot-on, that last one should be taken pretty lightly.
AT&T: iPhone Sucks, Buy a BlackBerry
An AT&T Regional Manager recently put together a 5 page document outlining exactly why the iPhone 3G sucks compared to any BlackBerry and Windows Mobile phones. The document was SUPPOSED to be internal but when an AT&T mall employee used them as “flyers”, convincing customers OUT of the iPhone, we’re sure a few jobs are going to be lost.
Among the documents was a page titled Top 10 Reasons Why The iPhone is Still No BlackBerry. We’ve listed the reasons below along with an image of the actual document explaining each:
- No removeable battery
- No video record and no flash
- No voice dial
- No expandable memory
- No MMS
- No CDMA
- No UMA
- No Stereo Bluetooth
- No Cut And Paste
- The BlackBerry is ADDICTIVE

Motorola Adventure: July 28th on VZW
On-the-go turbulent types from construction workers and extreme sports addicts to the admittedly clumsy and outdoors people… rejoice: the rugged Motorola Adventure is rumored to be launching on Verizon Wireless on July 28th.
At first glance it appears to be a semi-normal flip phone - but that’s not the case. The Motorola Adventure passes US Military Specification 810F meaning it can withstand some of the harshest conditions including shock, vibration, solar radiation, dust and more. It also has push to talk technology and quite a few extra goodies.

While some people are thinking, “why would I need this?” there are equally as many thinking, “this is perfect for me,” and those people know EXACTLY who they are (or re-read first sentence). This phone would be a GREAT primary phone for plenty of folks, and even then, a phone like the Motorola Adventure would make great sense as a “work phone” for those who need the ruggedness while having a more delicate, tech powered phone for play.
Again, the Motorola Adventure is expected to launch on Verizon Wireless on July 28th so keep a look out!

Texting While Driving… A Freaking Motorcycle
In America, we’ve got the motorcyclists/bikers who think they’re cool/tough/hard/thugs, whatever you want to call it, and drive about 120 MPH, weaving between lanes of traffic through gaps they can barely squeeze. Put one of those guys on pain killers and this is what you’ve got:
Are you freaking kidding me? Texting while you’re driving a motorcycle? This has to be one of the most dangerous things we’ve ever seen… besides maybe trying to catch the subway/train in India. And based on the uber cool accents of the guys filming this… they’ve probably seen worse.
Ridiculous.
BlackBerry Bold = Best Screen EVER
While we’ve gotten used to the Boy Genius usually slapping us in the face with accurate rumors, apparently he has the knack for being patient as well. After spending a full month with the BlackBerry Bold, he drops a tremendously comprehensive and down to earth review. calling the BlackBerry Bold Screen, “the best screen we’ve ever seen on a mobile device.”

Wow. The best screen EVER? Not only that but the claim was preceeded by, “We can safely say.” That alone should give you reason to “safely buy” the device. But pack on all the goodies like 3G, GPS, WiFi, QWERTY keyboard, camera, style, etc… and you’ve got yourself one of the ELITE mobile devices on the market.
We’ve summarized some of the highlights from the review below:
- Design: Will be compared to the iPhone but the silver lining is the main reason.
- Screen: A++++++++++++++
- Huge Tip: Device gets scratched easily. If you buy this, make sure the first thing you do is plop on a screen protector and some phone armor.
- Keyboard: Not the best BlackBerry keyboard ever, but well above average
- Connectivity: 3G, Edge and others are A+ and GPS works like a charm
- Browser: renders great 90% of the time, nice job
- Sound & Call Quality: Greatly improved compared to previous BlackBerries

Samsung Omnia: Germany, Italy, USA?
Samsung seems to have a heavy hitter in their upcoming flagship phone - the Samsung i900 Omnia. Packing a 3.2 inch WQVGA, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and more, there are plenty of business power users and consumers keeping an eye on this thing.
Take those eyes and peer over to Italy, where the Omnia will first be released on July 22nd, and then Germany on August 6th before rolling out to the remainder of Europe throughout August. Pick your choice of carriers as T-Mobile, Vodafone, E-Plus and O2 all seem to be offering the device.
GSM Arena is reporting that Italians who pre-order the device, up to a limited number, will also receive a Free XBOX 360? Sounds like one of those “enter your e-mail address here for a free iPhone” scams but we’re dying to know a little more about the validity. This “pre-sale” offer apparently starts on July 14th… yesterday. Any timetravelling Europeans that can figure this out?
Will the glorious Omnia make its way to the USA? Rumors that AT&T will get a version of the Omnia seem pretty solid, but not guaranteed. A recent FCC document for the Samsung i907 has some thinking THIS could be the AT&T version of the phone but the dimensions and shape seem different than the i900 which is somewhat of a mystery.
So let me get this straight… not only do they get the Omnia first but they also get Free XBOX 360s with them? Yeah, sounds real fair Samsung… spoil them why don’t you!

Real, Live BlackBerry Thunder Pictures Surface!
There has been a lot of back and forth about the upcoming touchscreen BlackBerry: will it be called the Thunder or the Storm? Is the release date set for 4th Quarter or is it severely delayed? We can put those questions on hold as we bask in the glory of live BlackBerry Thunder pictures scooped up by the folks at CrackBerry:

We thought it might a little sexier than this… slightly disappointed. But when we heard details on the touchscreen any hesitation about wanting to take a long, romantic walk on the beach with a BlackBerry Thunder was put to rest. We’re actually writing our classified now.
The BlackBerry Thunder TOUCHscreen is tactile in itself. Meaning, when you press the screen the entire thing “pushes in” a little bit, giving you the feel of an actual button. This, in itself, wouldn’t be very exciting - but combine this with localized haptic feedback and you’re oh so golden.
The Thunder’s localized haptic also generates a vibration when the touchscreen is pressed but ONLY in the area that your finger presses. The combination of this and the tactile screen will supposedly give users the feeling they are pressing an actual button… pretty neat.

We can see how such a complex system would be difficult for BlackBerry to master and wouldn’t be surprised if the phone DOES face delays. We imagine there is a very delicate balance between the touch screen’s haptic and tactile features that, if not struck perfectly, would render the phone a huge loss. And BlackBerry is in it to win it so they’ll certainly wait until this phone is ready for prime time before rushing it out.
That being said, early rumors are saying it should be ready in November of 2008 on Verizon/Vodafone. We hope those rumors hold up.
Now Hiring: Camera Phone Paparazzi
A recent picture of Gwyneth Paltrow surfing earned the photographer 16,000 pounds (about $32,000 American Dollars) and now, given the proliferation of camera phones, the paparrazi want to employ the power of the preying public - you!
Mr. Paparazzi himself - who maintains one of the largest celebrity blogs and whose company buys and sells celebrity pictures at ridiculous margins - is making it incredibly simple for any average Joe to snap a picture on their camera phone and submit it their company for the potential to earn tens of thousands of dollars. The mobile version of the site will allow folks to upload their pics directly, with photos used by publications earning 50% of their sale price… every time they are used!
Looks like anyone who had a smidgin of respect for the private lives of celebrities just got thrown down the drain. ZOMG IS THAT DEREK JETERZ WITH A STAIN ON HIS SHIRT LOLOLOLLOLLOLOOLLOLOL LET ME TAKE HIS PICTURE AND TRY TO MAKE SOME MONEY ON THE INTERWEBZ!!!!
Great. Just what we need.
You had to see this coming. And to be honest this is only going to get worse. Or better depending on how you look at it. We can see how this power could be used for good. But honestly, anything that has the potential to make Perez Hilton and company an extra buck just makes me nautious.
Then again, if we saw ARod cuddling it up with Madonna on a Yankee road trip, we’d probably be the first ones to whip out a camera. Which is exactly why all these 5-8MP camera phone beauties coming out are the jam diggity for wannabe celeb stalkers.

125 Free iPhone Apps at 9AM
Sure, the iPhone 3G is cool. But the TRULY intriguing part of the latest Apple launch is the mobile applications, both free and paid, that unlock a world of possibilities previously unseen on mobile phones. We’re set to enter that world on Thursday, July 10th at 9am PST with the launch of the iPhone App Store.
Apparently, the 9AM launch time of the App Store coincides with the first hardware launch, taking place in New Zealand. And when the figurative pearly gates of the iPhone heavens open at by virtue of the App Store… fanboys will have immediate access to over 500 applications for their phone.
The number of applications are startling and whats more is 125 of them will be absolutely, hands down free. Part of the reason here is that Apple is allowing distribution of FREE applications that are subsidized by in application advertising - not bad. And while 25% of all launch day apps will be free, a whopping 90% will be less than $9.99!
Chances are if you’ve saved up enough to pluck down your dollars on a shiny new iPhone, you’ll have enough coin left over to buy your favorite application or two from the app store to give a test drive. And even if not, the hundred plus free ones should keep you occupied for a minute or two.
Some analysts - although perhaps riding a little high on the iPhone hope/hype - are saying the iPhone App Store alone could generate $1 Billion dollars in revenue. It won’t be too long before will learn a whole lot more about how much promise the App store will command. Apple takes a 30% cut of all iPhone application sales.

BlackBerry Thunder to Blunder to Wait-A-Sec
Remember when gadgeteers got wind of an Android “delay” - threw a hissyfit - and then realized there was no delay to begin with? Welcome to Round 2 - BlackBerry Thunder Edition.
Everyone and their pet hamster named Diego have been eagerly awaiting the BlackBerry tidbits and/or any juicy information regarding the phones highly protected release. So, its no surprise that when reputable sources such as EngadgetMobile posted articles on July 8th calling the Thunder Touchscreen “Totally Awesome” - not only do people listen, but they also spread the word.
So among yesterday’s news was that the “totally awesome” Thunder touchscreen would be so amazing that it would “blow our minds through the front of our heads”. Wow… thats quite an achievement to have to live up to.
It’s no surprise then, that a “highly reputable source” said the BlackBerry Thunder was “nowhere ready for market” going so far as to say its so pitiful that those handling it, “think it’s a joke.” Its so far from even being usable that 4-5 months away at best is probably the timeframe.
Immediately the internetiots went wild, with people making comments about how BlackBerry will never be bale to make a touchscreen, they should stick to what they’re good at, they should give up while they are ahead and that the delay in the Thunder is proof that it will be a BLackberry thUNDER = BLUNDER.
These were probably the same folks flipping out about how Android - which has always had a “2nd half of 2008″ launch date was delayed until “4th quarter”. Not only is 4th Quarter 2008 but the 4-5 month timeframe for the BlackBerry would put it at an estimated…. oh… I don’t know… NOVEMBER.
Yup, the same November that the BlackBerry Thunder was initially slated for in the rumors. Just a reality check here folk. Keep it moving… nothing to see…

iPhone 3G Updates Roundup
With the iPhone 3G launch only a couple short long days away, the rumors, speculation, reviews and all other kinds of last minute tidbits are pouring in. We’ve got a few concise updates that should help you from sifting through the entire world wide sandbox.
The Lines, The Myths, The Legend
Friday at 8AM is the magical time that the *Apple of our Sky* opens up and shines iPhone goodness on fanboys across the world. You can expect to get a suntan while you’re waiting. There is no telling how many people will line up to buy buy Apple and AT&T are saying that, because activation must take place in-store, the process time for each customer will be about 15 minutes.
We’re not mathematical geniuses but we’re guessing those “100 customers an hour” estimations are being a bit generous. Who knows… time certainly will tell. [From Crave]
Canadian Wait Time at Apple Stores = Infinity
You’ll be waiting forever to get an iPhone 3G if you line up at an Apple Store in Canada. The reason? They aren’t being sold! Some have said Apple is protesting the ridiculous data usage fees for customers charged by Rogers, the Canadian carrier. Others are claiming its no different than the rest of the world and that the USA is the only country where Apple Stores are pushing significant volume.
Rogers then reportedly responded to this criticism by offering 6GB of data for $30/month and because we’re not sure of Apple’s position in the first place, we’re not really sure what can be said. It looks better for Canadian’s than before though - that’s for sure.
Either way, we don’t understand why any Canadian would weather the storm before playing a little game of wait-and-see. Oh… oh… unless you’re a fanboy. [From MocoNews, EngadgetMobile]
Early iPhone 3G Reviews
Only the elite have been offered early review devices of the iPhone 3G. While the MobileRoar invitation must have, er, got lost in the mail there were 3 other VIPs who received theirs on time and provided reviews for the rest of use to devour: Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal, Ed Baig of USA Today and David Pogue of the New York Times.
Mossberg found the phone to be faster and louder (speakerphone) but claimed that the battery time was shorter and syncing your contacts was less than perfect. He didn’t review the GPS but overall, the device got strong scores - read it at All Things D.
Baig had a positive review of the phone but noted it was far from perfect, citing the following detractions: no video capture, no bluetooth stereo, no voice dialing and no turn-by-turn live directions for the GPS (will probably come as a paid 3rd party application). The 3G speeds weren’t working in his home which is an utter bummer since this is a main selling point. He also noted many of the accessories don’t work and an “adapter” will suppposedly be for sale to bridge the gap. Thanks, Apple… more money. You can read his review at USA Today.
Pogue had hope for 3rd party apps and felt audio quality was improved but was disappointed in some of the iPhone’s core functions, noting it was missing MMS, video recording, turn-by-turn GPS directions and cut and paste feature. Many of the features he DID like would be remedied by simply updating your old iPhone with the 2.0 software. Read the full review at the New York Times.
We summarized the excellent roundup found on Gizmodo… thanks Giz.
iPhone Apps is Where It’s At
The ability to download 3rd party applications is the true beauty of the iPhone 3G and in reality is just the iPhone 2.0 software that could run on your old iPhone as well. It’s the same reason we’re immensely excited for Android.
So we figured we’d help you find some info on upcoming applications you’ll probably want to check out once you’ve got your shiny new, iPhone 3G in hand - iPhone App Roundup.
Motorola Ming a1600, a1800 and a810 Launched in China!
Today in China, Motorola launched the Ming A1600 and A1800, both bringing enhanced GPS, smart-handwriting technology and business multimedia functions to the table. The A810 was also launched, but its entry-level candy bar nature makes it less noteworthy (to us).

For those of you who don’t know of or can’t remember the Ming, it was Motorola’s ever so awesome flip-phone with a see-through flip. Everyone who saw you using one of these bad boys asked you where you got it back in the day. It also sported a full touch-screen display that ran a Linux OS. Fans adored this. Now, we have new models!
Mobiledia did a nice write-up on what we can expect in these new phones:
The A1600 and A1800 features a distinctive transparent flip cover. The A1600 is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and panorama capability and a camera scan talking dictionary, while the A1800 supports CDMA/GSM dual-mode dual standby, integrated incoming call/SMS firewall and a 3.0-megapixel auto-focus camera.
Advanced stand-alone touch-screen GPS helps users find their destination, supporting both independent satellite positioning and GPS positioning. The A1600 and A1800 also position and navigate independently like specialized GPS devices without mobile network support. When the exact address is unknown, the A1600 can find the destination by sending an MMS of landmark buildings.
Both devices come with a 1GB microSD card preloaded with the latest electronic maps of the Chinese mainland (not including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan). Motorola will offer a free one-time upgrade of the electronic maps on the A1800, while owners of the A1600 can also take advantage of this upgrade for a small fee.
The large 2.4-inch touch screen provides a clear and comfortable writing experience with rapid cursive Chinese handwriting input. With smart learning (A1600 only), prediction and memory capabilities, the handhelds learn and remember writing habits and increase input speeds.
“Designed specifically to reflect the Chinese preference for writing characters by hand, our pen-based PDA series has met with incredible success in China,” said Ray Yam, Vice President, Motorola Mobile Devices, China.
They also offer a suite of mobile business applications, including email, Internet access (A1600 only), a business card reader, Kingsoft translation software, and a Office document reader.
With a 3.2-megapixel camera, the A1600 makes it easy to snap, save and share pictures. The panorama capability can piece together multiple shots taken across a horizon and make a 300 degree panoramic photo.
When reading English documents, the A1600 can scan and translate the unknown words. The integrated talking dictionary can scan characters, recognize the words and pronounce them.
With its CDMA/GSM dual mode, the Ming A1800 supports both SIM and UIM cards and is a dual standby phone, which searches both the CDMA and GSM networks for the strongest signal. Users can answer calls from either network without needing to manually switching networks.
The 3.0-megapixel auto-focus camera captures memorable moments. The Ming A1800’s 150MB on-board memory, expandable to 4GB with microSD card, offers enough storage space to save plenty of photos.
The A810 is an entry-level PDA with a built-in 2.0-megapixel camera and microSD slot expandable to 2GB.
Now if you’re like me, you’re shaking right now in the presence of sheer awesomeness. Nah, I can’t shake in the presence of myself.. OHHH SNAP! But seriously.. these phones are going to rock.

XM and Sirius on your iPhone!
Subscribers of Satellite Radio services from Sirius and XM can now access music on the go directly from their iPhone courtesy of uSirius and uXM from Millard Software. The application is available for free (bring your own satellite subscription) but we recommend you use the PayPal Donate feature to tip Jason Millard a few bucks… this application is WELL worth it.
Seeing as how XM is currently SELLING portable XM Radios for anywhere from $129.99 to $249.99, free is quite a deal. Not only that but you’re increasing the personal value of your iphone by a heckuva lot. On the other hand… how long will you need to remain a satellite subscriber before something better comes out?
BlackBerry Thunder Screenshots Leaked
There has been a ton of hype surrounding the first ever BlackBerry touch screen phone which is rumored to be called the Thunder (9500) and slated for a 3rd Quarter 2008 release. BlackBerry is staying mum about the handset but bit by bit, pieces are leaking out and we’re gladly catching them like like little kids with their tongue out in the snow.

The latest on the Thunder are screen shots of the phone’s media player and we have to say, they look pretty snazzy. Of course, they COULD be photoshopped… you never know. Put this in the delightful-but-not-definite drawer and keep your ears glued to the streets for more Thunder info.

Motorola Vegas Sits at the Penny Slots
High rollers (like you and me, right?) will immediately pass up the Motorola Vegas - a low to mid range phone that was spotted in FCC filing reports. The Motorola Vegas is CDMA based and rumored to be a launching on Sprint in the near future.
We’re not sure what’s so “ballin” about this phone that it deserves the name Vegas: it looks like a RAZR/KRZR, has 2MP camera, Bluetooth, MicroSD slot and keys for “music”. Had those keys been gaming dedicated keys and preloaded with some online casino software we would have said “ballin” indeed.
Instead, the Vegas seems like just another phone at first glance. Expect pricing around $100.
