Xperia Delayed Until January
The Sony Ericsson Xperia, which was announced in February 2007 and received enormous praise initially, has now been delayed until January 2009. According to sources, the reason for the long wait is that the Windows Mobile 6.1/6.2 isn’t functioning properly on the device.
This is a total shame for those who have been following this device… not to mention Sony Ericsson themselves. The handset manufacturer hasn’t exactly been pumping out platinum and the Xperia looked like a blockbuster hit when it was first announced. Since then though, many other phones have cast a shadow on the Xperia and it seems destined to launch with reluctant yawn given the circumstances.
The delay was initially found by looking on SE’s own online e-shop:
How sad. The Xperia could have been a big phone. It still could be but with each passing day Xperia news gets more and more stale. In fact, how did you even torture yourself to get through this entire post?
