HTC Touch HD: Never In America

The phrase, “Only In America,” is a phrase often used for expressing the outrageous things that happen in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. But HTC seems to go by a different mantra: Never in America.

Joining many other high-end HTC handsets, the manufacturer’s officials have confirmed that the Touch HD will NEVER reach American shores. Ever. The information was uncovered by a Twitter Tweet of all places and an immediate rebellion of HTC-hungry Americans who expressed their strong dissatisfaction.

And it worked… to a degree. While HTC officials acknowledged that folks on the state side were craving the demand for the upper eschaleon of HTC handsets like the Touch HD, they still said… Never in America. At least for the Touch HD. The engineering time to make it happen would take to long and by the time it launched in America… people would be “over it”.

But thankfully, this has turned HTC’s eye in the sky towards the states, showing that the demand for their products is real, tangible and can fuel their bottom line. Hopefully, an influx of T-Mobile G1 sales will encourage them further.
