Google recently launched Street View for Android, BlackBerry and iPhone but that doesn’t exactly “cover the map” so to speak. Today, Google announced that they’re leaving no stone unturned and Google Street View is no able to run on Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile devices as well.
If you’re not familiar with Google Street View, seeing it in action is really the only way to understand. Here it is on a BlackBerry:
In addition to expanding their platform presence they’re hard at work expanding their geo-presence: my hometown (Baltimore) was added in the past few weeks and they’ve been photographically scouring the streets of France, Italy, Spain and Australia as well. I would have loved to see the Google car driving around but didn’t. However, I found my car parked on the street which was pretty cool and I’ll be searching around the city for people I know… maybe I’ll even find myself!
So run along S60 and WinMo users… and play with your new toy!
