Xperia Tardily Arrives In USA At $799

by Rob on January 6th, 2009

Once upon a time, Sony Ericsson had an amazingly promising phone called the Xperia. Then it was delayed a billion times, got some poor reviews, was delayed again, fixed some of the problems, was released in foreign markets, delayed again and finally launched under the radar for a whopping $799.

I’d rather buy 3 netbooks.

After taxes bring the price to $867, you have to wonder who in the heck is going to buy this thing. Sure, it’s unlocked but jeezy peezy what is the point in blowing almost a cool k when there are a truck load of better devices for WELL under the $500 barrier?

But you’re a grown up. You can decide how to spend your money, right? Maybe you’ve got more money than you know what to do with and then by all means, dive right into some Xperia loveliness. It’s available online at SonyStyle.com and in some of their retail stores as well.

We can’t argue that its a sweet phone but in THIS economy we just feel like…. ouch.
