The Palm Pre will be the first Palm device with Palm’s new operation system, WebOS. And as always in the tech industry, we’re always looking for the “next thing”. According to a reliable source of PalmInfoCenter, the Centro 2 will be the second Palm device running on WebOS.

The rumor says the Centro 2 with Palm WebOS will debut on Sprint this Fall and be about she same shape and size as the current Palm Centro, pictured below:

I wouldn’t count on the Centro 2 being the only other Palm WebOS phone in 2009, either. A PC Mag tipster has said that the next Pre will be a candybar, low cost phone without the QWERTY keyboard. Whereas PalmInfoCenter likens this to a revised Centro 2, I would say it sounds like a completely different, 3rd device.

As of now these are all rumors with a splash of opinions.
