According to a pre-order page for the N97 at Play.com, the device will be launching on March 31st. Nokia promised a “1st Half 2009″ launch so the timing makes sense, but we’d still file this as rumor. Especially since, after a 2nd (later) look, the date seems to have been updated to reflect “Coming soon”.

The N97 is a pretty sweet looking 5MP camera phone loaded with a lot of goodies like a 640×320 resolution screen, Quad-band GSM, 32GB internal memory, 3.5mm headphone jack and a bunch more.

If the Play.com information is to be believed, the Euro variant would be released on March 31st with North America and others coming within weeks afterwards. The price? 479.99 GBP which converts to $707 US Dollars.

If you get what you pay for, this thing better be ballin’.
