Samsung Android To Sprint & T-Mobile By Mid-Year
| by Rob on January 19th, 2009 |
We’ve known for awhile that Samsung was making an Android based handset with they’re membership in the Open Handset Alliance as virtual proof. Common assumptions pin the device as an Omnia/Instinct-ish device with Android slapped on and while Samsung wasn’t willing to confirm THAT… they did confirm it will be featured on Sprint and T-Mobile.
At the moment, Sprint and T-Mobile are the obvious choices to carry the Android phone as AT&T and Verizon have been reluctant to hop on board the Android express thus far. This move looks especially good for Sprint who, in addition to the Samsung Android Phone, will also be getting exclusive rights to Palm’s Pre device which some say will trump both the iPhone AND G1.
Details were scarce and NewsOXY.com isn’t exactly a beacon for reliability but on the other hand, this isn’t exactly shocking news either. And even if it WAS official news, we all know these things are completely subject to changes, delays, cancellations and all types of cruddy stuff.
So be excited… but be wary excited.
