Verizon Should Call It Coupon Every Two Plan
| by Rob on February 2nd, 2009 |
Every Verizon customer without recent blunt force trauma to the head knows what “New Every Two” means. Just in case – after two years (or 20 months) of contract fulfillment with Verizon Wireless you get $100 towards a new phone. But updates to the policy that take effect on February 15th should force them to change the New Every Two program to Coupon Every Two because the maximum you’re getting is $50 back.

All the hot new phones are going to seem a lot less affordable when only $50 can be ripped off with NE2 and that’s assuming you pay $79.99+ on your phone bill. If you pay less than you only get $30 off! My question is… what happens if you switch between plans?
Based on documentation they call this “plan” the Worry Free Guarantee but I’m worried this wasn’t the best change. They also discontinued the test drive program that allows people to test Verizon for 30 days without having to pay a dime if they don’t port their number over and start service with the company. No clue as to why they did this… it was probably either too costly or ineffective. In many cases its like if you’re going to switch you’re going to switch so perhaps it was just giving away free months of service.

On New Every Two:
“This tool has proven to be a valid loyalty and retention tool for Verizon Wireless…”
So why f* with us now? Any loyalty was apparently one-sided.
