I Love Round-Ups!

by Rob on February 17th, 2009

Its tough to enjoy vacation when you know your time sensitive website is collecting a bit of dust (wanna write for us? contact us!) and being away for a LONG VDay weekend was difficult. Luckily I have a mistress named “round-ups” who was waiting at home for my return. In this “I Love Round-Ups” Valentines’ Edition, we’re covering a lot of ground.

Here are some of the top stories you/we missed:

Microsoft Opening Retail Stores

Apple’s retail stores have not only been a hit for the products they sell and minimalistic displays, but also for their product tours, demos, lessons and much more. They have created a sense of community around the Apple product line that – while it already existed – continue to be embraced. Microsoft is tapping former Wal-Mart employee Dave Porter to compete with Apple’s retail success. They’d be smart to use this as a solid foundation to begin better branding of Windows Mobile platform because lord knows they need it. [Via CrunchGear]

Paid Android Apps Now Accepted
One of the biggest thing holding back Android and the Android Market was said to be the impossibility of Paid Applications. That appears to be over now as the Android Market is now accepting paid applications from developers. The only thing they could complain about preventing the success of the market now is their $200 Price Limit. [Via Android Market Email]
