Verizon Wireless is often considered the best carrier in terms of signal but one of the worst in terms of phone selection and capabilities. Nobody thought Verizon Wireless (or AT&T for that matter) would soon adopt a Google Android Phone but Big Red could be proving everyone wrong. If the rumors are right, the Motorola Calgary will be the first Motorola Android Phone and it will be headed directly to Verizon Wireless later in 2009.
When in 2009? It’s hard to say – some are saying summer but I think holiday season is more likely. Throw in the fact that this is just rumor and even if it IS real there is still the possibility that it will be canceled, delayed or reach another fate that is not a 2009 launch. But this news HAS to be encouraging for Verizon Wireless customers and Android fans alike. I know I’m excited… how about you?
