Some of the uber nerds on PPCGeeks’ forums had a little excitement on their hands today when a freshly cooked WinMo ROM provided a working copy of Windows Marketplace, Microsoft’s application store for Windows Mobile.

Previously “Coming Soon” buttons turned active and allowed for a quick viewing of the application. Marketplace appears to offer nothing unexpected, but one user successfully downloaded Pandora and got the app working.

Sadly, Marketplace once again went dark soon after its appearance but the brief glimpse did provide some insight as to what is to come in the Windows Mobile world.
