BoyGenius Compares Smartphone Costs
| by Elias Chiddicks on June 30th, 2009 |
If you are one of a growing number looking into buying yourself a sexy new touchscreen Smartphone, you might want to have a gander at the little comparison the BoyGeniusReport has put together between the T-Mobile G1, Sprint’s Palm Pre, Verizon’s Blackberry Storm, AT&T’s Apple iPhone, and their respective price plans.

Rather than compare the most expensive price plans, the site took the cheapest plans available for each phone. The upside of this was that those who could deal with the minimum would see the clear leader (the G1). Things go a little sour when you note the plans and their differences (for instance, an everything plan with Sprint for the same price as a standard-looking plan from AT&T). So, in other words, the article is a comparison of minimum possible cost to the consumers rather than a comparison of value.
Their conclusion is a rather disappointing “research for yourself,” but a good message for consumers nonetheless, and a worthwhle read for the dedicated purchaser.
