Now, before starting off at a quick jog or wild motor through the streets to your nearest Sprint store, note that this is a rumor. That said, word on Sprint’s side of the street is that the carrier is currently testing two new Android handsets, one of which is the newly introduced HTC Hero. The Hero will apparently have a customized UI “not seen on previous Android devices.”

Details beyond that are few and far between. The other handset is supposedly a Samsung phone, also of the Android persuasion, whos specs are rumoured to include CDMA and WIMAX capabilities. Don’t look to see this handset until 2010 though.
