Twitter comes to the rescue yet again today when Nokia tweeted that it would soon be releasing version 1.1 firmware for the recently released N97. The release of the ‘97 hasn’t been without its problems to be sure, and its good to see Nokia so doggedly persuing the resolution of these problems.

No word on what exactly 1.1 will fix (although there is plenty to fix), but Nokia did say it would be focusing on “first variants,” which means, fortunately, the North American version. One bonus: theoretically this should all be OTA updates, rather than using Nokia’s Software Updater ballyhoo.
