Quite a rivalry is forming between Samsung and LG and the latest battle is on Fort Watch Phone. Mobile fans have long been excited for the LG Watch Phone that has made the rounds over the past few years and earlier this month we learned it will hit Orange UK in August. But the price is obscene, making it  unrealistic for everyday folk.

Samsung must have seen this as an opportunity and a challenge: the company has just announced the Samsung S9110 Watch Phone:

Always looking for a way to declare their brand and products superior, Samsung is dubbing this the world’s thinnest watch phone at 11.98mm thick. Nestled into a leather strap comes a 1.76 inch touchscreen, bluetooth, media player, email, voice recognition and probably a bunch more.

Sure, it looks awesome, but unless Samsung can also drastically undercut the price of the $1000+ LG Watch Phone it doesn’t appear there is much of a point for most of us. We’ve just got to hope the price comes down in the next year or two but we’ve already been waiting at LEAST that long.
