Apologies for the brief hiatus… a number of simultaneous occurrences including a server move and writer vacations led to a gap in our coverage. We’re now back in full force and want to get you caught up on a few stories so… here they are:

Samsung Rogue Coming August 15th?
Verizon Wireless customers who passed on the original Samsung Glyde but are now ready to make a leap will be happy to hear that the phone’s 2nd edition could launch as soon as August 15th. It will actually be called the Samsung Rogue and come with a 3MP camera, GPS and other goodies. [Via PhoneArena]

Samsung Dash M850 Through FCC
The good old boys at the FCC have given us more phone to chew on, this time around passing the Samsung M850 Dash along with a picture of the back cover. This thing could quite possibly launch with an Instinct brand name… we’ll have to wait and see. [Via UnwiredView]

Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 Gets 3.5mm Headset Jack
If you planned on getting the HTC Touch Pro 2 for Sprint, rejoice – the company is launching the device with a 3.5mm headset jack! This is awesome and hopefully more and more phones from manufacturers will use the 3.5mm jack… it really should just become the industry standard. Here is a pic for proof! [Via IntoMobile]

Craigslist Leaks Samsung A797

Of all the places to leak a new phone, Craigslist could be one of the weirdest. Someone got their hands on an AT&T bound Samsung A797 – a phone that hasn’t yet been announced – and is selling it for $115 on Craigslist. They at LEAST c0uld have given us the scoop on the story before putting it up for sale, right? Sheesh.

WebOS to get an App Catalog Leader
Once the flood of Apps comes in it will be hard to backtrack and sort out a complete mess, so Palm is thinking ahead and is about to hire an adminstrator for the App Catalog. On Yahoo Hotjobs they’ve made a job posting for “Lead App Catalog Administrator“. Boatload of New Phones Launching  August 23rd at BestBuy Mobile
Someone on the inside at BestBuy has published a list (via BGR) of a slew of a baker’s dozen of handsets set to launch on Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Among the noteworthy are the Samsung Omnia 2 and LG Chocolate Touch!

Sprint Buys Virgin Mobile For $483 Million
It is what it is… Sprint is focusing more on Prepaid as evidenced by their recent buyout of Virgin Mobile for nearly $500 Million bucks. Thankfully the company will keep the Virgin Mobile brand as I was afraid they might launch Sprint Virgintel… although Sprint NextVirgin might be kinda hot. [Via TC]
