Nokia N900’s USA Pre-Order Begins NOW… $649
| by Rob on September 3rd, 2009 |
Ever since the Nokia N900 was first shown on video with that sexy Maemo 5 running atop it the clamor began. Americans wanted to know if the N900 and Booklet 3G would arrive in the states and while Nokia VP of Devices divulged that it WOULD arrive in America he said he would not, “disclose any date on the product launch in North America.” While we still don’t have a time frame we DO have a price – $649 – and you can Pre-Order now on the Nokia website!

A pretty awesome review of the N900 was done that gives us a great glimpse of all the features:
I found the video over at jkontherun who give an interesting take on the positioning of Maemo and Symbian within the Nokia priorities:
From what I can see, the platform represents the beginning of a potential reinvention for Nokia smartphones. I suspect Symbian will be here for a long time to come, but will be relegated to feature-phones or low-end smartphones.
Not so sure I agree with the Maemo being a reinvention for Nokia but I agree with the Symbian line.
