Xperia X2 Priced Around $875

It is pretty amazing how powerful and affordable smartphones are these days. When you get an Android Phone, iPhone, WebOS Phone or BlackBerry you can get an incredibly capable device for $200 or much less when contract and rebates are all said and done. So why Sony Ericsson think their Xperia X2 priced at $875+ will win over enough of the market to matter is beyond me.

In a Facebook message sent from a Sony Ericsson exec it is revealed that the Xperia X2 2ill cost between 590 and 600 Euros in Italy… which equates to $865 or $880 in US Dollars. The Xperia line competes directly with the “Touch Pro” series of phones made by HTC but the cost of Sony Ericsson’s product seems significantly steeper. We won’t have to wait too long to see what the final price will be after contract/rebates since the company has already announced it will launch before the end of 2009.
