Acer’s curious and exciting new entry into the smartphone market draws closer as the official release date finally makes it out. It looks like we will be seeing this Windows Mobile 6.5 device starting October 6th, which not-so-coincidentally, also happens to be the day Windows Mobile 6.5 itself is released.

The F1 is packing some pretty good specifications too, with a massive 3.8-inch touchscreen a la HTC TouchHD, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, a 5MP camera and WiFi.
