Samsung Convoy Joins the its Ruggedized PTT Brethren on Verizon

by Elias Chiddicks on November 7th, 2009

These days, new PTT devices all seem to be coming in ruggedized format, presumably to deal with the stresses of an environ where one might actually use PTT. Which is to say, briefly, when you used it that one time (or tried to) in the livingroom after bringing it home from the store.

But rest assured, if you are one of the elite few who actually use this service and also routinely assault your electronics, then the Samsung Convoy might just be the hefty, rubberized, clamshell for you. With 810F compliance, the Convoy is resistant to shock, dust, vibration, salt, fog, humidity, sunlight, and temperature extremes. The phone also comes with EVDO, Bluetooth (2.1), and a 2 megapixel camera.

Expect it to arrive on Verizon for November 15 at $49.99 on a 2-year-contract after a $50 MIR.
