LG Customers Eat 10 Million Cookies

When a phone sells 1 million units it is pretty successful. That’s the recording artist equivalent of going platinum. So the fact that LG has sold over 10 million units of the LG Cookie is an absolutely ASTOUNDING feat.
The phone was destined for volume, going on sale in November 2008 as a lower-end, affordable touch screen phone. Let’s face it – at the time there weren’t a ton of devices in that product category but there were plenty of people who wanted a touchscreen phone without the high price. At least 10 million of them I suppose.
“We are pleased that the LG Cookie was able to reach the benchmark of 10-million shipments in a short period of time,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The sales record adds credence to our philosophy of studying consumer demands and offering a full touchphone that balances premium features with sleek design. LG will continue to shape the future by delivering products and technologies to satisfy the tastes and expectations of our consumers.”
LG has been distributing slight variations of the device throughout the world. Props to them on this huge milestone!
