I am not saying that these rumors are false, but it doesn’t appear to make any business sense for Sprint which owns Boost.
Yes, according to one source, there are more than 25,000 Boost Mobile customers already using Blackberrys on Boost (”BoostBerry”)
Yes there would be a strong demand for this product and the service,
However, currently Sprint currently has a hundreds of thousands of Blackberry Curve 8330 customers on two year contracts paying $80-$120/month who paid $100-200 for their Blackberry.
Sprint would loose significant revenue
Why would Sprint throw in the towel on their contract Blackberry business to gain no contract Blackberry customers. Once Boost offers this, no Sprint Blackberry customers would ever renew their contract.
Also, woouldn’t this will kill the sales of Boost Mobile’s new IDEN Motorola smartphones
Aside from the screen shots that were contributed to the website, Boost will not confirm or deny this rumor.
Does anyone else have any confirming information?

As our world rapidly evolves, cell phone service like it’s brethen, POTS, is becoming a commodity. This is a world where decent quality coupled with the lowest price wins. Sprint realizes this as do AT&T, TMobile, and Verizon. That is why they all have unlimited plans. Sprint PCS in the last quarter gained more new customers on Boost than the other major prepaid services combined. This pricing model is simply getting Sprint in position to be the frontrunner in the cell phone service commodity market. Being first in this type of market is very important as the frontrunner can quickly grab large chunks of market share, which Boost did in the last quarter. Yes you lose revenue now, but this is a business marathon, not a sprint(pardon the pun). Bravo SprintPCS, keep the innovations coming and customers will follow.

I was at the Boost store, Baltimore, MD. Yes, they have these phones. It’s not a rumor, it’s true. They are really putting themselves in a good position with all of these “pre-paid” companies out here. I was actually impressed. I’ve had my Blackberry Curve with T-Mobile for OVER a year, and I promise, they will NEVER have to worry about me again. 4 years of service, almost 2 with Blackberry, worst customer service/appreciation EVER.

ive been with with boost for 3 years, and ive been thru 5 phones, so the question for me is the boost version of the blackberry a quality phone or a peice of crap like all the other phones they offer where the buttons start to fall off after 4 months, the speaker goes out, or the sound disapears or even the phone itself stops excepting a charge?
