LG’s GW990 gets Videoed

The GW990 has a bit of identity crises, but still manages to be one of the most exciting devices to come out of LG this year.

According to Engadget’s hands on, the device is as large as you would expect but feels solid and well designed. The massive 4.8 inch touchscreen, with a max resolution of 1020 x 480 certainly shows well in the video, and with 512MB of RAM to back it up performance-wise, and 16GB worth of storage this thing has the goods to deliver a really good user experience.
The GW990 is a GSM-based device, although LG is careful to call it a “3G device” rather than a mobile phone. As of now, the UI is LG’s standard S-Class, but LG says the phone will be available with several other OSs’.
