Alltel Commercial - Lemonade Stand
The good people at Alltel have sent me over their newest TV Commercial which is set to begin airing tomorrow. Its called “Lemonade Stand” and depicts the “Sales Guys” from their childhood days… its cute and the MyCircle advertisements are certainly catchy:
What IS surprising is that Alltel has continued to run advertisements bashing Verizon Wireless although they have been acquired by Verizon Wireless - FCC approval is pending and the deal will likely clear before the year ends.
Maybe that’s why the Verizon guy just stands there in this commercial… and isn’t the one yelling, “YOU’RE STILL A DING DONG!”
Here are the newly introduced My Circle plans that Alltel is promoting:
Alltel recently introduced new “My Circle” Family Choice Plus plans. For $84.99 per month, customers will receive two lines with 1,000 shared minutes and the ability to call any 10 numbers on any network. Also, customers can receive two lines with 2,000 shared minutes and unlimited calling within their “Circle” of 20 numbers for $114.99. In addition to the unlimited calling within their “Circle,” Family Choice plan customers will receive unlimited mobile-to-mobile calls and unlimited nights and weekends. Customers will also have the ability to choose either free evening calls starting at 7PM or 1,000 text/picture/video messages. The plans include unlimited texting to their “Circle of Friends” and other Alltel customers.

HTC Touch Pro Unboxed
The HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro were… at first… announced to disappointment - everyone was hoping for an Android Phone. But when the dust/disappointment settled, folks realized the phone was nothing short of a Gem… err… Diamond…
The Touch Diamond is now available in the UK for the small price of about 500 pounds. That is, for Americans, almost $1,000. Thats without a 2 year contract but still… are you kidding? Take a look at the unboxing below:
The phone looks quite wonderful, but with all the MUCH more affordable alternatives out there and with a ridiculous amount of sick phones on the way you’ve got to be wondering how many people will actually snap up this phone at such an outrageous price.
Let us know if you get it! If there is enough interest (read: enough lunatics buy it) we’ll start up forums dedicated to it on our Phone Forums - let us know!

LG Dare Pitbull Commercial Put To Sleep By PITA
An LG Dare commercial featuring junkyard pitbulls has been protested by PITA and Verizon has now decided to pull the commercials across all markets. The pitbulls are chained up and sleeping when a young man spots an LG Dare on a table between them. The pitbulls wake up and the man and dogs sprint towards eachother - fortunately for the guy, the metal chains keep them just out of reach of the Dare.
That’s a long explanation when I could have just said,”watch this”:
Personally, I don’t think its that bad. But all you have to do is bring the name Michael Vick into the conversation and it all of a sudden seems ugly. However, there is no evidence that these dogs are mistreated - is there?
PITA is known for “stretching” their moral position at times and the LG Dare is meant to be just that… daring. While it may be “daring” I don’t think it even comes close to pushing the boundaries of reasonable. I think Verizon should have stood their ground… and maybe released a sequel to the commercial, available only on the internet, where the man makes friends with the dogs by allowing them to pet the Dare or show them a picture of a bone or something. Maybe then he falls asleep next to the dogs, now unchained.
What do you think?
Texting While Driving… A Freaking Motorcycle
In America, we’ve got the motorcyclists/bikers who think they’re cool/tough/hard/thugs, whatever you want to call it, and drive about 120 MPH, weaving between lanes of traffic through gaps they can barely squeeze. Put one of those guys on pain killers and this is what you’ve got:
Are you freaking kidding me? Texting while you’re driving a motorcycle? This has to be one of the most dangerous things we’ve ever seen… besides maybe trying to catch the subway/train in India. And based on the uber cool accents of the guys filming this… they’ve probably seen worse.
Ridiculous.
iPhone 3G Guided Tour
All you iPhone Fanatics eagerly awaiting July 11th like little kids on Christmas Eve, feast your eyes on the iPhone 3G guided tour which should distract you from the fact that you don’t have the device for about 10 minutes and 28 seconds:
Finished watching? Now you probably remember that you don’t yet have the iPhone. Gotta love/hate that itching sensation called yearning.
Sprint Goes Gangsta: Instinct Movie Trailer
We mean Gangsta as in Mr. Pink from Reservoir Dogs style gangsta, not Tupac Shakur from Juice style Gangsta. So would that make it GangstER? Who knows.
The point is, Samsung & Sprint are obviously heavily invested in making the Instinct a huge success and the latest way to help their handsome handset fulfill its potential? Viral video marketing. We admit… its pretty funny:
That’s 2 Instinct articles in a row… we know. What can we say? We’re mobile fat boys - if they feed us good material we’re gonna eat it right up!
Sony Ericsson C905 Promo Video
Ever witness a surprise birthday party where everyone and their momma knows that the birthday boy or girl already knows its a surprise? That’s exactly what the June 17th Sony Ericsson press event is going to be like.
As if enough details of phones TBA weren’t leaked prior to the event, we’re now seeing the promo video for the buzz worthy Sony Ericsson C905 which is best known for its massive megapixels (that’s what she said) - 8.1 MP to be exact.
Take a look at the promotional video and come back to check on the SE Press event breakdown - who knows, maybe there is a tidbit or two that hasn’t yet fallen through the cracks!

Samsung Omnia Video Review Galore!
Greg Kumparak got his greasy hands (he said it first!) all over the Samsung Omnia, pushing our jealousy to the limits. However, we forgive him because he shared an awesome video of his experience with the phone:
That thing looks devilishly delightful. Kind of curious to get a better look at the QWERTY keyboard as the buttons for each letter look kind of narrow and difficult to press.
The responsiveness of the touch screen doesn’t seem, at first glance, to be one of the best out there. In the below video, which was actually filmed by a Samsung rep and posted by Samsung to YouTube, selections seem to have a bit of lag time and scrolling up and down by “flicking” doesn’t yield the response one might expect.
Decide for yourself:
The final video is almost guaranteed to raise your estrogen levels. The extended demonstration of the touchscreen is pretty amazing… but its the accompanying music that has us wondering if Bette Midler produced this masterpiece.
We hope you enjoy these videos. Personally, we would describe the feeling more as “satisfied”… we won’t feel full enjoyment until we get one of these bad boys in our hands!

Incredibly Amusing Samsung F480 Video
Talk about thinking out of the box… this promotional video from Samsung illustrates the “customizable touchscreen” of the Samsung F480 Tocco with an incredibly amusing abstract video.
Check it out… you’ll probably find yourself watching it more than once:
The video just hit the Youtube front page and you can find the Samsung F480 promotional site here: http://samsung-f480.com
Sony Ericsson Alicia (Walkman Phone) Promo Video
Sony Ericsson might not have much left in the tank for their June 17th PR event where they are rumored to be launching a bunch of sick phones. Unfortunately, we already know most of the rumors… like the leaked promotional video tour of the Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone with codename “Alicia”:
We’re waiting to hear what the official name will be, because it probably won’t be “Alicia”, but beyond that are there any surprises left? We already know about the C905, the BeiBei, the Paris, etc…
Of course, nothing satisfies us more than seeing sweet phones that are rumored get official. So, SonyEricsson, despite the information and video leaks we’ll still be hanging onto your every word. Oh, and we wouldn’t oppose a few surprises along the way.
Sony Ericsson BeiBei: Aye Bay Bay
A Video Tour of the Sony Ericsson BeiBei was recently launched, but personally, it was pretty darn boring with the stock sounding music in the background. Add a little Hurricane - Aye Bay Bay - and you’ve got the illest new phone commercial on the planet:
Sony Ericsson - Aye BeiBei
BlackBerry Bold Video
BlackBerry fans might like to see a little Bold action. Howard Chui from HowardForums got his hands on a device and shows off some of the basic elements of the handset. He’ll wait until he gets a product version for a full review.
Until then:
