Is there any chance The new Glyde will ever come out on T-mobile? Or is it limited to V-Wireless?

I wouldn't hold your breath.

If you really want it, there's the Samsung F700, basically a GSM clone of the Glyde. I'm sure you could find an unlocked one if you really wanted to.

This thread wins shortest thread title ever!

Personally, Supernova, if you have T-Mobile I would wait until they release an Android Phone. They have already announced they will do so by the end of 2008 so you don't have too long to wait.

Yes, but I'm not to keen on paying 500+ on a phone

I don't think you'll have to pay $500+ for an Android Phone

Sure, there will be some upscale, high-end models. But, there will be some low end models, too. Afterall, Android can run on devices that don't have a touchscreen... or don't have a screen at all for that matter!

Combine that with the fact that Android, the actual SOFTWARE, is 100% free and Android Phones could actually be CHEAPER than the majority of phones you see on the market now.

Why? Because you're paying for:
  • Hardware
  • Service Plan
You don't have to pay for the phone software, which ordinarily costs the carriers and service providers a decent amount to develop.

Android should actually CUT the costs of mobile phones AND you'll be able to download a butt load of cool applications for free.

Just my $0.02

Could I buy the Glyde unlocked and insert my SIM card into it?

yup

The F700 though, not the Glyde, remember. The F700 is the GSM version of the Glyde.
