Is there any way I can set a password to be able to read my messages so other people cant get into my messages without knowing my password?

Also, Is there any way I can make it so that it DOESN'T go onto speaker phone when I slide it open?

If you go to Menu/Settings and Tools/Phone Settings/Security you can chose a lock code and enable the phone to be locked at all times and can only be used for emergency calls. If you haven't changed your lock code it should just be your last four digits of your phone number.

So, i tried this and the only options are "lock on start up" or "lock phone now" can you keep it locked at all times easily w/o having to go settings/phone settings/security/lock phone?

I have been messing around with my phone for a "shortcut" to lock the phone and can't find anything. I even checked the owner's manual and the only steps to lock the phone are the ones I already posted....SORRY

To lock the phone:

From the main screen, touch MENU.
Touch Settings & Tools.
Touch Phone Settings.
Touch Security.
Enter the Phone Lock Code (the default code is the last 4 digits of the cell phone number) then touch DONE.
Touch Phone Lock Setting.
To lock the device immediately, touch Lock Phone Now.
Touch the preferred option:
Unlocked
On Power Up

The only suggestion I would have is to disable the TXT Auto View and Pic-Video Auto Receive so you would not see the TXT/VID/PIC message display on the front screen. You would actually have to unlock the phone to read the messages. Sorry
