Wifi I am proud to announce!

All current Samsung Glyde owners can now visit a Direct Verizon Wireless Communications Store (that has software updates available) and update your Glyde.

It will improve overall functionality and will be sure to please current customers.

It will enhance messaging, bluetooth, user interface, touch screen, locking abilities, and more! It will also slightly improve signal quality.

Visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store today!

http://vzw.com/storelocator

The update became available yesterday.

That's awesome!
Has anyone done this yet? I'm gonna go do it this weekend. But the only store that will do the upgrade is half an hour away!

Do I have to do this with a new Glyde. I ordered a new Glyde this afternoon (can't wait!) but I want it to be the best it can be. Does this come preupgraded or should I take it to my verizon store?

I got my software upgraded today. Software version U940 - BF25
I told the technician that I heard he had a software upgrade that MIGHT keep me from throwing this phone against a brick wall. I went through my unlock unlock unlock ... answer answer answer.... turn speaker off! turn speaker off! turn speaker off! frustrations and he said I should do a commercial! Anyway - my initial reaction was that it was 100% improved, but then later on I tried to press the 'dial' button and I got a list that started with 'speaker off' I kept going back multiple times, but each time I pressed the 'dial' button it took me to this list. I finally waited a while and then it started working OK. I called customer support and explained my frustration. He seemed surprised. But then he said if I turned the phone off and back on it should be OK. He also said I should charge it with the phone turned off. That's not an option for me as I'm on call 24/7 for work.

I'll give it a bit longer before I start throwing it at brick walls. (I do have 2 layers of electrical tape on the battery)

It's no better after the software upgrade. I called customer support and told them I can't take it anymore. I asked for a Dare but they offered me a Voyager. I'll go test out the voyager before I make a decision. I really wanted the glyde to work. Maybe I just don't have the right static energy capacitative fingers.

The Voyager and Glyde are very comparable...in fact, they weigh the same and have very similar dimensions.

I have the Voyager and I love it. It is one of our most popular phones, now available in a new color--Titanium.

Default Oh, the Glyde

I took both my Glydes into Verizon for the Software update. One worked ok, the other was a complete disaster!
The phone would call on it's own, the touchscreen was totally freaking out and I finally drew the line when I could not dial 911 for a car accident!

I took the phone back and Verizon gave me a new one. Much better now. It works fairly well. I still have to unlock the screen with the side button to answer. The screen touch still gets a bit confused but not as bad.

I personally do not recommend in store updates. Things in the system can corrupt your phone. I recommend built in software which comes with the phone. The Glydes that are newly released have the newest working software.

Verizon sent me a titanium voyager as a replacement for the glyde. I am SO much happier. My stress level is way down. I'm not threatening to throw my phone against a wall anymore. I don't get awakened in the middle of the night with 'charge complete' beeps. But most of all, I can make a simple phone call without cussing.

I am glad you like the Voyager in Titanium. I am just a little awed that they would send you the titanium instead of the black one, since the Titanium is much newer and in a custom color...

but anyway, the Voyager in Titanium is what I use.
