Since Thunder is 3rd Quarter does that mean you'll wait until the end of September and if its not out yet buy the Dare? The Dare comes out on June 26th just FYI!

I, so far, am planning on buying this when it comes out because it seems to have everything I am looking for in a phone. I am waiting, like everyone else, until Jul 3rd so I can go play with one in the store.

I have had the same phone now for almost 3 yrs and it's time for ME to get a new phone instead of my kids or the wife.

I can use my "new every two" $100 the end of July, so that is when I will probably go in and buy the Dare. Plus, that will give me time to read what others have to say about the phone.

Some stores might have their demo models but can't sell them yet. So, if you're REALLY eager, you might want to call and see if they have one you can at least play with.

Default Important tools for me

I think the Dare is the right next phone for me, but it will depend on two things. Since I haven't yet been able to play with it in the store (not there as of 7/1/08) I'll need to find out if I can have full contact info (addresses, company, email, etc.) and an appointment calendar so that I can get rid of my ancient Palm. I don't need any of the email or other applications of a "smartphone" but like the specs of the Dare - if it has these two things!

Anybody know?

Default LG Dare in stores Tomorrow!

Just to let everyone know that the Dare will be in stores tommorow. Be sure to call ahead as the larger verizon wireless stores will have the most inventory with the smaller stores to recieve their allocation in the near future. Kiosk stores will more than likely be limited to a display model for now.

Hope this information helps!

I will be DAREing tommorow!!!! Goodbye ENV2 you were a good freind for three weeks!

Default Cannot sync calendar or contacts (or video)

I've found the answer to my own question: I cannot sync the calendar or the contacts, so they will be quite limited use for me. My answer came from the last paragraph of the PC Magazine review (LG Dare VX9700 - Reviews by PC Magazine).

They do give it a lot of praise - should be a great phone for a lot of people.

Enjoy!

Default Got it today...

Got it today and going through all the documentation while it's charging. My NE2 date was yesterday, and this was the most appealing VZ phone for my needs. Hope to report great things, and may have questions.

Default Traded Glyde for Dare

I just traded in my Glyde for the Dare ...... What a difference .. The touch screen is phenomenal...camera is on point and the interface is just awesome. Got everything I could want in a cellphone. Traded the Glyde for the Dare and got a CREDIT of $25 for trading it in.... I love Verizon.

The LG Dare is not for everyone; nor does everyone like strawberry icecream. The LG Dare is a good Verizon "wannabee" version of the iPhone, but at the same time it (i.e. LG Dare) is in a class all it's own. It's not a MS Windows SmartPhone or PDA, yet it has a great design and a lot of functionality and a great GUI. OK ...so I was also looking for a stylus when I first got it, like I have on my ol' Cingular 8125 work cell phone ...but after a day or two, I found that I didn't need one ...or want one. I'm sure that LG (and the others) will be launching better and more feature cell phones in the months and years to come.

You can keep waiting and saying "I'll wait 'til they have this or that" ...and the next thing you know ...you're still waiting.

IMHO, the LG Dare is the best Verizon cell phone on the market at this time.

Note: I've been researching my next cell phone for months; started with the Voyager, looked at the Glyde, etc. ...but I couldn't pass up on getting the LG Dare ...especially @ $199
