Default Can you backup contacts without BackupAssistant?

Is there a way to backup your contacts on the Dare without using the Verizon BackupAssistant?
We have twice had a problem with losing a phone, transfering the number to an old phone and trying to retrieve the contact list from the lost phone. In both cases, the contact list in BackupAssistant has been erased.
Is there any way to backup this contact list to a pc or to a removable card?
Thanks,

Default BitPim

According to the BitPim site you should be able to use it with the Dare. I've had no success, but I have v06 on my Dare. Their site says it has been tested with v03. Hope this helps. Good luck, and let me know if you get it working.

Welcome to BitPim

Default BitPim and phonebook backup

BitPim works GREAT to backup contacts (I'm using V06 firmware). It saves them as a CSV file (comma delimited). After you open BitPim you have to select "Get data from phone" make sure you select phonebook as a source. Once that is finished you select "Export / CSV Contacts" from the File menu. Very Easy. I've used this when I upgraded from the Motorola Razr to the LG V8300 then later to my LG Dare. No problems!

Default

I just had this problem over the weekend. My phone just up and died. It started freezing on the Home screen and after taking the battery out, it wouldn't start back up. After a few hours it would start back up, but would again freeze at the home screen. So I'm now on Dare #3.

But as they couldn't get my phone to work, I couldn't transfer my 200+ contacts. As backup assistant cost money, I never bothered w/ it. I was informed that if u have a Verizon account online, that backup assistant is free. So it's probably worth it to sign up for the account online if u haven't already done so.
