LG Dare capabilities: interact with google calender/download eppocrates drug program

my LG Dare phone is not allowing me to make additions, etc. to my google calender. It is only allowing me to read it. It is Java enabled. Does this phone have the capability to interact with my goggle calender? If so, what do I need to do to make that happen

Also, I need to download a drug program called eppocrates from the internet to access medication dosages, etc. Does the LG Dare have this capabi;ity. If so, is there a cost and how do I make that happen?

It's not that kind of phone. You're probably looking for a smart phone. The only way you are going to be able to run apps on this thing is if Verizon makes one for you.
There is no GMail client for the Dare to my knowledge. Your best bet is to use the web browser (the functionality is limited even then, I have not gotten the website to consistently use the full version instead of the mobile version.)
