i bought the lg decoy. overall im very satisfied i love the joystick and it has many features. hey i got a question for u though would u rather have s shine cu720 or the decoy
I think the LG Decoy is an industry leading phone for an on the go type of person. It is the worlds first phone with a built in Bluetooth headset.
I have a lot of standards in a phone. Before I buy a phone, I read reviews. Then I go somewhere where I can test it. Since I work for Verizon Wireless, I would usually go into our test center and use the phones. Sometimes I may visit a VZW Store. I also make sure the phone provides excellent call quality, excellent features, and for me...it must include a QWERTY keyboard . If I didn't have those standards, I would buy the LG Decoy immediately. I actually was using it and was thinking of getting it.
I currently have the LG Voyager which is a spectacular phone. I think getting the Decoy would be a downgrade.
People who have slightly lower standards should get the LG Decoy...great phone!
I like to point out you NEVER want to switch carriers just because of a phone. Would you rather have a stylish phone or a network that can complete your calls?
Yes, the LG Shine is nice, but it isn't with Verizon Wireless and never will be. It is not a phone I would switch companies for. I would never switch companies for a phone. When you do that, the carrier you switch from comes out with newer nicer phones...then you are sad and stuck with a poor carrier (like AT&T).
Sorry to sound extremely opinionated. *All of the test proves that Verizon Wireless (followed by T-Mobile and then Alltel, which Verizon now owns Alltel) has the best coverage, best customer service (sometimes this is tied with T-Mobile), and the best plan options (not necessarily best pricing). Notice, AT&T is not anywhere to be found. They tied with Sprint PCS.
*Based on JD Power ratings.
Remember, not one wireless carriers are the best everywhere...but some are preferred for traveling while others aren't. Verizon Wireless provides coast to coast coverage. Nationwide travelers have a 90% chance of owning a Verizon Wireless phone while traveling.
Why switch and get something not as good as what you have? I am in the Northern California area. AT&T provides coverage in my town, but if you leave the interstate at all, you lose coverage. They also have no coverage at my house. Verizon has this placed covered with all digital coverage and EV-DO broadband coverage!
I hope this helped explain things a little bit.

Hey guys. Im new here. New owner of the LG Decoy. I definately downgraded from the LG Voyager. I had 6 replacements (several diff issues even since I first got it when first released!). The last 3 were due to camera picture-saving defect. Even with v11 update it did not resolve. I asked for the Dare but i had to pay 200 dollars or so. i said no way! So I went with the Decoy. I definately miss the Voyager, but i do not miss the problems nor the crappy dark camera/and video-darkening recording. i took pictures with the Decoy as well as video and it sure as heck beats the quality of the Voyager. Its a pretty sleek phone. I miss my dual screens and qwerty but this shall do until i can use my ne2. Wish it came with the usb cable and had verizon send them out to me since its definately a downgrade from what I had and would suck to have to buy it all again. Just thought i would share that! Oh btw....when I receive videos and I press 'play' button, that would be the toggle button right? Like it gives me the options Erase Play Options. And I press Play (with middle toggle button) and for some reason it gives me the options to Reply! Is that normal?? Or is it yet another problem phone that I have on my hands???? LoL.
Nope, after dealing with the brokenness of the Samsung u740 from Verizon, I'll never again buy a phone with the Brew runtime environment. For whatever reason, most of the applications for it stink, and it feels like more apps have gone to monthly subscriptions as opposed to one-time purchases. I couldn't bear the thought of buying a new phone and being limited to vzw's browser and paltry app selection.
