If you have it, do you like it or not? Why or why not? Please be as detailed as possible as I am going in on Friday to purchase either the LG Voyager or Samsung Glyde. I have done my research reading tons of reviews on both phones as well as going into the store and playing around with them. But I'd like a few more feedbacks before I make my decision this Friday. Thanks in advance!
I have the Voyager and while I do love it.. it has some really annoying quirks. The touchscreen freezes now and then, e-mail isn't all that easy to use, battery life isn't that great, etc...
The Glyde is kind of like the Voyager's little cousin. It can't do as much (Mobile TV for instance), but if you are mainly getting the phone for the simple fact of the touchscreen and full QWERTY, I would go with the Glyde. The Voyager might be more than you need anyways.
BUT....
On Monday, Verizon is releasing the LG Decoy and in July they are releasing the LG Dare. Both of these phones are worth a good look as well... unless the Full QWERTY is your main attraction.
Hmm..I heard the touch screen on the Glyde freezes up as well + lags and has a short battery life. I will probably never use MobileTV, but what about games? I noticed that the Glyde doesn't have any arrow keys, nor does it have silver keys on the QWERTY keyboard indicated for gameplay controls like the Voyager does ( Tetris has always been a MUST for me on every cell phone that I've had ).
Also, do you know if AIM on either phones is still the same as all the other Verizon phones where it only shows up to 30 people on your buddy list?
The main reason I am looking into QWERTY keyboard phones is because of messengers. While I text super fast on the regular phone pad, it's easier to chat using the QWERTY keyboard on messengers. And because I have a lot of things to take care of online, the messenger is crucial for me.
If you want a REALLY good opinion about Voyager vs. Glyde, I would visit our sister site at Verizon Voyager
There are a TON of people who have thought about the same thing - Glyde or Voyager - and they could likely BEST help you make the decision you'll be happy with.
hi! Just been waiting for my upgrade; good riddance to my Motorola Krazr . I read forums and reviews on cnet for the Dare, Decoy and Voyager; checked out the Glyde and Moto Krave Zn4. 'took into account what my needs/extraneous stuff I don't want to deal with (e.g., I'm a good T9 texter so I didn't desire a QWERTY (my fiance & I had a contest to see who was faster--I on my alpha numeric and he on his Alias...we tied); I'm always fumbling around for my bluetooth; I don't need the extra $15 plan to watch TV; have tons of contacts and media; somewhat tech savvy; wanted something to slide into a jeans pocket that didn't look bulky; decently sturdy because I tend to drop things). I narrowed 'em down to the Decoy, Dare, and Voyager. Initially X-d out the Voyager because it looked too bulky.
So I decided on the Decoy, which I have right now. I'm proficient at the toggle, and love the bright graphics, but when it comes to texting on T9 word, maybe I'm getting frustrated from having to switch between my past Motorola (text) interface and LG's. I'm also prematurely sending texts as I compose...rendering me trigger happy and constantly following up with "oops messages."
Anyway, I went back to Vzn to pick up a folder I left at the counter and am now contemplating on getting the Voyager! Initially I wasn't wowed with my co-worker's seemingly bulky Voyager but since my last foray into the store, I'm digging the touch interface and may break down and start texting on qwerty so I don't have to constantly go back and configure my message.
Anyone else deciding between the Decoy and another phone....? or in the same predicament?
