[/quote:lastnikita]Mmmmm, I think (hope) it's the same as some recent samsung phones (d900, u600/900, etc), I tried a wall charger from another phone that fits well, so I ordered one, and a tv-out cable... Will let you know asap if it works ![/quote]

Damn it, I received the wall adapter and that one is not compatible, guess I've ordered the wrong one, will have to find out what exact phone model my friend had... will post here the result..

Anyway, still absolutely no problem with the camera, you guys having problem should try what I suggested.

I'll be flashing the new rom by today, hope it solves a few issues I have.

Video Omnia Volume Sucks !

Hi Guys,

I am from Singapore...
The Omnia Volume Sucks...its damn low.
I didn't expected this kind of volume for Samsung Omnia which is more than 1k bucks...
If watching movies/listening to songs in MRT, the volume is much lower we can clearly hear the train sounds...
The 3G Front Camera is not so good...
There is no equalizer in Windows Media Player nor the Samsung Touch Player..

Hey; I'm from france and waiting for my omnia, shipped today... I chose it because it hasn't too much preloaded softwares (only touchwiz home, that i'll disable as soon as I'll recieve this phone ^^)
Those problems mentionned above seems quite annoying... But aren't the well known softwares (task managers, multimedia players) good solutions, before the samsung rom updates ?
For a good equalizer, there are many players like GSPlayer which are suitable...

(ps : sorry for english)

Default "Not Enough Video Memory" Camera Problem

I just received my Omnia and had a "Not Enough Video Memory." error when trying to use the camera. I restarted the phone and it seems to have solved the problem. If anyone finds a solution, let me know.

Also, I thought the keypad was supposed make the phone vibrate as you typed? Did they get rid of this feature in the latest firmware update?

Hi! you can disable it from vibration at setting.

I've ran into the problem one other time since the first time I purchased it. Just out of curiosity, did you "Update" all your videos, music, etc. in the Touch Player before you tried to use it? I did update ~300 songs right before I tried to use the camera. Maybe the memory is being properly freed?

Default For those with camera problems...

Just thought I would share this with y'all if you haven't found the answer to the seeming 'camera memory problem'...

The solution is to set your camera/video to save pictures/videos on the "storage card" (I have mine on the microcard, but you can try it on the internal 16 or 8G mem) rather than the manufacture default Main Memory space which is not much memory space for the size of the pictures.

Hope this helps.

My Omnia arrived yesterday. Since then it has had to be reset about half a dozen times. It switches off and the power button can't switch it on again and it has to be reset. I've tried changing the power options so I'll see if that helped.

Also, the auto rotation has ceased working twice. I've had to reset it for that too.

It took me a while to get the Audible sorted out and download my audio books but I think I'll stick with an ipod for that... I don't think much of the volume or the style of the headphones. They're too big for my ears and keep falling out.

I've taken a few pictures and not experienced a problem with that yet.

I think the iPhone was easier to use. I need to delve further into setting it up so I can easily reach the things I use the most.

I'm looking forward to someone developing a rubber case for it like I had with the iPhone. The leather ones make it too bulky, the hard crystal plastic ones look rediculous and the sock style.. I think not.

If these few issues can be easily resolved I'll be happy to keep this for 18 months (first time on an 18 month contract).

Hi,

Anyone has related the camera problems with TouchWiz? Using the traditional interface the problem persist?

I have seen the Samsung TouchWiz with problems when using the rotation screen (acelerometer) in a video on Youtube.

Hi zul, sorry for the delayed reply. I think the solution to your problem is:
1) keep your Main Memory Storage space above 25 Mb of space (you can check it under Start > Settings > System Tab > Memory). I find when you install programs, omnia tends to put it in the phone's main memory under 'My Device' > 'Program Files' (in File Explorer) even though I specify installation in 'My Storage' or in the 'Storage Card'. So, whenever I install a new software, I check in the Program Files folder to make sure it didn't get installed here. If it did, I manually cut and paste into 'My Storage' and create a new shorcut for that program and place it back in 'Windows' > 'Start Menu' > 'Program'. The only other glitch I found: omnia insists on saving pictures and scanned business cards or documents in the main memory under 'My Device' > 'Program Files' > OIM or liek folders which take up space in the long run. So make sure you transfer or delete files there from time to time.

2) the other thing I do is to make sure to 'end all taks' (flicking finger from bottom of the screen upwards) before I turn on the camera as I think with many programs open, the needed mem resources by the camera gets consumed.

Honestly, ever since the first day, and keeping an eye on the above 2 steps, I haven't had a problem (thankfully) with the camera. I hope this helps.

I do hope too that future PDA upgrades will solve this issue.
