I hope the $150 presale for current T-Mobile users is real, because I can't afford to shell out much more than that for a new phone. :\

Android sounds Good, and with solid network
I've been using the Shadow for cell-phone and backup network,
and relying on available WiFI to use my ipod Touch. I'm hoping
that Android will get closer to iPhone/touch functionality than
Windows mobile does -- but I won't shift to an overpriced and
underfunctional network to get it. I have yet to meet anyone
satisfied with ATT as a provider.

asomi: I too hate ATT, hated there phone serive, and had nothing but trouble with their DSL service.
As for getting the Dream: Most likely I will, I already have service with T-mo and have been considering getting a new phone anyway. Although, from rumors I've been hearing, it may not be quite a "DREAM" phone as the name implies. I'm hoping as rumors turn into fact that they will look a bit brighter, but also I wonder if these rumored downfalls will be hardware related or just software. For instance, the rumor that it will not have FULL bluetooth support should be simply software. The phone itself either as bluetooth or it doesn't, and it is up to the software on how it can handle the bluetooth hardware (ei. which Bluetooth Profiles are supported.) Also not having video recording. Since it has a camera, it MAY simply be software limitations at the moment that do not allow video recording, however at the same time, the camera that is built-in may not be capable of taking pictures fast enough for smooth video output.

Started my SmartPhone line-up with the AudioVox SMT5600, Wing, Dash, and currently the Shadow running WM6.1 ROM.
Have only had it for 3 months. Already saved up enough ($400 just in case) for the HTC Dream. My friends wouldn't beleive that I'd have a killer phone by the end of the year that would kill their hyped-iPhone.
I'll prove them wrong soon enough!?
hah!

I'm definitely going to get one depending on the reviews. Been on the market for a new touch screen phone, but didn't want to get an Iphone due to the expensive plans ( they really do have the best browser out there depending on the site you go to ). The Dream is perfect for me since I've been a long time Tmobile subscriber. After so many dropped/missed calls, Tmobile surscribers will finally get rewarded with some decent hardware/software. Being a cautious buyer, I would prefer to see some reviews or even an demonstration by Google or HTC of the phone's capabilities before fully committing the the preorder ( some confirmation on whether GPS functionality being present would be nice ). I'm hoping/guessing some reviews will eventually popped up. So as of now, I will get one when I see more concrete evidence of functionality and ease of use.

Buying the Dream
I would buy it. I would not change to T-Mobile for it, unless they'd have a decent pre-paid option for it.
(This option was not in the choices, so I did not vote. Yet.)

Yes yes yes yes. Damn yes I will buy it, even preorder it on September 17th. Been waiting for it since last October. About time to ditch WinMo and say no to AT&T exclusive iPhone (although, honestly, if it was not for AT&T, I would've bought the iPhone by now)

T-mobile
I had the time to look at T-Mobile's rates now. They do look pretty decent, so now I did vote.
Yes, I'll buy a Dream when it becomes available, and yes, I'd switch to T-Mobile if that's what it takes to get one.

Not sure if this is a persistent problem throughout any other wireless carrier, but with Tmo I get so many missed call and dropped calls. I've this same problem throughout 3 cell phones. So that's something to take into consideration as well. But honestly, I'd be willing to stay for the G1. Would love to surf the internet from anywhere in my city for a decent rate.

Maybe it's just your area because I've had very few dropped calls, a hell of a lot less than when I was with ATT

yes yes yes and ... did I say yes already?
Yes I will buy it. I am currently a Tmobile customer and I am in good standing - I have not upgraded my phone since last 2.5 years when I got my MDA.
My wife has the Motorola A1200 and I might decide to get actually TWO G1s - one for my brother

Gee, if it's cool !!
Hi to everybody, I live in Italy, and yesterday I was watching BBC-News, when I saw the HTC G1 Dream !!
However, I surfed a bit on the www, and I found out that it will be in Germany at the beginning of 2009 !,and in Italy only in October 2009 !!!!
Do you know, if buying it on T-Mobile, with the T-Mobile SIM card, it will work fine downhere ? And can I put an other SIM,like TIM ( Telecom Italia Mobile ) or Vodafone ?
Gee I want that mobile .

As far as information goes, the phone will be simlocked to T-Mobile, so putting in a Sim from another provider will not work. Until someone hacks the phone to make this work.
